Beginning July 10
“Plein Aire Watercolor Painting”- Thursday evenings, 6:00pm – 8:30pm, July 10 – 31, 2008
This class meets at the end of long summer days to paint the beautiful Vermont landscape as it appears in evening light. Painting “en plein air” became popular with the Impressionists who wanted to observe and record the unique light effects that only occur outdoors. We will do as the Impressionists, sharpening our skills in observation and recording as well as enjoying the outdoors during the marvelous – and too short(!) – summer season. Instruction in this class is very much one on one and will focus on specific techniques for successful watercolor painting – both outdoors and in. The class is appropriate for painters at all levels – beginner to advanced. We will meet at a different location in the Bennington area each of the four weeks in order to observe and paint beautiful scenery and evening light. The class focuses on watercolor, but other media are welcome.
Cost is $100 for the 4 week session.

HI Tony, I spent a bit of time exploring your blog/web site and am happy to receive it. Studying your paintings … color for the winter scenes… makes me better able to see what makes a value come to life. Also it is interesting to see how you use one sketch to form a composition using only the bones of the original. Now lets see how I might use this new awareness. Thanks.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for sending the schedule for classes. I really wanted to take the watercolor one but have a real conflict on the 5th. So I am thinking of taking the into to acrylic class. Do you still have room?
Hope you are enjoying the winter………
