“Painting in Watercolor “- Offered through the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, Tuesdays, Sept 16, 23, 30 & Oct. 7  - 6:00pm - 8:30pm

This class is designed for the beginning watercolorist. The class covers basic techniques including washes, brush handling, and elementary color theory.  The class paints from a still life during class for practice in observation and recording.

Class fee - $85

“Introduction to Acrylic Painting”- Offered through the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, Thursdays, Oct 2, 9, 16, 23 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

A survey class that explores the various techniques and methods available with this versatile modern medium. The class focuses on the various techinques and surfaces that can be used with acrylic paint. The class paints from still life during class.

“Watercolor - Beyond the Basics”- Offered through the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, Tuesdays, Oct 28, Nov 4, 11, 18 - 6:00pm - 8:30pm

This class will build on the Painting in Watercolor class offered in September.  The class focuses on developing and building on the basic skills necessary to successful watercolor painting. Washes, technique and color will all be covered.  The class is a great follow up to “Painting in Watercolor” and is also appropriate for anyone who has “dabbled” in watercolor and is looking to build their skills. The class paints from still life during class.

“Painting Flowers in Watercolor” - Offered through the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, Thursdays, Nov 13, 20 Dec 4 & 11 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm
The watercolor medium is ideal for creating the bold, bright, soft & delicate look of arranged flowers. This class will focus on the techniques and tricks used to create beautiful floral paintings in watercolor.  The class will paint from a floral arrangement during each class.

“Autumn Plein Air Painting” - Saturday Afternoons September 27 & October 18 - 1pm to 5pm.
This class meets on early autumn afternoons to capture the look of changing foliage and of the rapidly changing light that occur during this dramatic season. We meet at the same location on separate Saturdays to observe and record the landscape as it rapidly changes from late summer to fall. We’ll focus on the skills and techniques needed to quickly capture changing light effects and to make plein air paintings successful in varied weather conditions.

Cost is $100 for the two sessions.
