Southwest Vermont Career Development Center (CDC) watercolor classes :
Basic Watercolor Painting, Tuesdays, January 26th – Feb 23rd, 6:00 – 8:30pm
Watercolor, Beyond the Basics, Tuesdays, March 9 – 30, 6:00 – 8:30pm. Both of these classes are designed for those who have never tried watercolor as well as for those who might be picking up the watercolor brush after a long time away. Both classes focus on the fundamental techniques needed to work successfully in watercolor. Class fee $85. Optional materials fee – $60.00
Creating Watercolor Paintings From Photos. Tuesdays, April 20 – May 11, 6:00 – 8:30pm. Using photographs is a popular method of creating watercolor paintings. In this class, you’ll learn how to take the image beyond the photos and to create truly unique paintings. Class fee $85

Summer Plein Air Painting – Saturday & Sunday, July 10 & 11, 10am – 4pm . – This class focuses on the unique experience of painting “en plein air” – both the pleasures and the challenges – as well as on the skills and techniques needed to quickly capture changing light effects and to make plein air paintings successful in varied conditions. Class meets on the grounds of the Taraden Bed & Breakfast, North Bennington, VT. Class fee – $150 for the weekend long class
Watercolor Beginners Weekend – Saturday & Sunday, August 7 & 8, 2010. This weekend long workshop is for the beginner, near-beginner, and anyone who finds the watercolor a bit confounding. Over the course of the two days, we’ll unlock the mysteries of the watercolor medium. At the end of the weekend, each participant will understand – how to create glowing, transparent washes; how to mix the color they want everytime; the fundamentals of composition; the value scale; and value and color composition. Class meets on the grounds of the Taraden Bed & Breakfast, North Bennington, VT. Class fee – $150 for the weekend long class
Autumn Plein Air Painting – Two Sessions, Saturday & Sunday, September 25 & 26 and Saturday & Sunday, October 16 & 17, 10am – 4pm. This class focuses on the unique experience of painting “en plein air” during the time of year when the intensity and quality of light changes dramatically during the course of a single afternoon. Class meets in the Media Barn of the Taraden Bed & Breakfast, North Bennington, VT. Class fee – $150 for the weekend long workshop.
