“Evening Shade”
“Evening Shade” was begun on location, at the historic Park-McCullough House in North Bennington, Vermont, and finished in the studio. This painting captures the essence of slanting light on a summer evening. The work combines value, temperature and textural contrasts with a subdued color palette to depict the light as it appears late on a summer evening.

“Summer Looking South”
Another summer evening painting depicting a time somewhat earlier in the day. Painted on relatively absorbent Winsor-Newton 140lb cold-press paper, this painting has a crispness which, along with the warm color scheme depicts a delightfully warm Vermont summer evening.
