“Front Garden Lily “

As its title suggests, a lily from our front garden. Day lilies dominate my wife’s gardens in mid-summer, so I paint them quite often. This work is built around strong value and color contrasts to depict lily blossoms and blooms nestled amongst garden foliage. Liberal use of sedimentary pigments suggest earthy textures.

“Day Lilies”

Similar in composition to “Front Garden Lily” but from a slightly broader viewpoint. The path of golden yellow blossoms leads the eye back and forth across the complementary violet background.
