“Bend In The Road” – 11″ x 15″

This is a studio painting depicting a country landscape with farm fields and fall foliage.

The main subject is actually the light. In this case it’s that cool autumn light that creates terrific light-dark and cool-warm contrasts throughout the scene.

Light effects catch my eye more than anything else. Although this is a studio piece, there was a conscious effort to create a sense of spontenaity and immediacy that is often apparent in plein air paintings.
