“Changing Weather – Senenca Lake“, 10″ x 14” watercolor on paper
The weather can change fast in the Finger Lakes. This scene, looking southward on the lake, caught my eye as the sun was creating dancing sparkles on the surface.
By the time I set up my gear and was ready to go, a storm was forming at the south end of the lake. What an opportunity – and a time for haste!
Sky and water went in quickly as did the distant land masses. By the time I was finished, the storm had gotten closer, so it was time to pack up and leave, also with haste!
This finished “en plein air” painting ended up being a unique depiction of a dramatic weather change.
