Class Schedule:

Week 1   – March 20th – The Human Figure : Basic Proportions

The most basic mistake we make when painting the figure is in basic proportions. Learn basic proportions and how to apply them to a figure in this class.

Week 2   – March 27 – The Human Figure : Clothing/Folds/Gathers/Creases

Clothing generally drapes itself over and around the figure in predictable ways, creating folds and creases in the process. This class introduces ideas a simple ways to create them with watercolor.

Week 3   – April  3 – The Human Figure : The Clothed Figure

Pull together ideas from the first two weeks with exercises and follow-along demos to help you create great looking, simple clothed figures in watercolor.

Week 4   –  April  10 – The Human Figure : Standing and Walking

Let’s get them moving! Standing and walking figures are the easiest of all. Practice getting relaxed movement in this class.

Week 5   – April  17 – The Human Figure : Sitting and Lounging

Figures that are sitting or lounging create the unique problem of foreshortenting. Overcome this problem with a practical approach in this class.

Week 6   – April  24 – The Human Figure : Figures In Your Scenes

In this final week, we’ll add figures to our scenes and make sure they look right using linear perspective to help!
