“North Pownal” – En Plein Air Watercolor Painting

“North Pownal” – 11″ x 15″

Hot and dry in July! This painting was done on a mid-summer morning that was dry, but also humid. The main idea was to focus on the quality of light, summer haze and lush fields.  

It is a challenge to create a painting of summer without overhwelming the picture with green. In this case, haze in the atmosphere helped quiet the greens with the blue of atmospheric haze.
