“November Fields” – en plein air watercolor painting

“November Fields” – 11″ x 15″

The gentle light of late autumn is a never ending source of inspiration.  Beyond the light, this scene inclcuded interesting down hill perspective and back light – two more inspiring pieces of a landscape scene.

It was painted en plein air along Cedar Hill Road in Pownal, Vermont.

Although it was late fall, these fields were still wearing a faded green. One of the main challenges in the painting was balancing the dominant green and capturing the shifts in value and temperature that reveal the difference between lght and shade.
