“Old and Weary” – Watercolor Landscape Painting

“Old & Weary” – 7″ x 11″

The essence of late autumn captured in a rural scene.   It’s kind of a typical and common subject for all kinds of paintings. For this one, I used a low-intensity neutrals to convey a gray day in the late part of autumn. 

One of the things I most enjoy and find inspiring about the late fall landscape is the subtle and weak light from the sun near its winter solstice.   It is a challenge to get right – in this painting it seems just right.
