Class Schedule:

Pre-Class

A Pre-class info sheet with important info and ideas is sent two week before class.  It includes color and wave construction ideas that will be used during class, pre-class exercises in perspective and basic watercolor painting techniques, and links to tutorial videos for review.

Day 1 – Saturday, July 16th

Morning Session: 9am to 11am

9am – 10am – Paint Along – Color,pPerspective and movement in the calm ocean

 

 

 

 

Afternoon Session : 1 pm to 4pm

Class Description

Learn to paint the the ocean and seascapes. Class covers important ideas, methods and techniques for your seascape paintings. 

MATERIALS

Use this Basic Watercolor Supplies and Materials list as a guide.

We’ll be working on 140lb Cold Press Paper for each project.  I recommend Arches 140lb Cold Press

Ocean water tends to be darker and lower intensity color than we think.  Color mixes for this class will use different blues ; Cobalt, Ultramarine, Cerulean, and Indanthrene, along with earth colors; Raw and Burnt Sienna, and Raw and Burnt Umber.   In addition to those, Quinacridone Deep Gold or Quinacridone Gold is a good addition.
