“Peony” – original watercolor painting

“Peony” – 7″ x 9″

This is a loosely handled painting on hot-press paper.  It is tempting to paint flowers, especially peonies, in an unltr-realistic manner.  In this case, the idea was really to capture the light on the blossom meaning that areas of light and dark were more important than accurate depiction of the structure of the petals.
