Class Schedule:
MORNING – The morning focuses on using preliminary sketches to simplify the the scene, create a solid composition and “lock the light”. The instructor will demo the ideas and methods first thing. Then everyone will sketch scenes of interest, using ideas from the demo.
There will be a break for lunch around noon. You are free to pack a lunch or make a short walk to a deli in the village.
AFTERNOON – The afternoon session begins with another instructor demo, this one focused on painting a scene using our sketches and direct observation. After the demo, everyone is free to continue sketching and composing or jumping in to a more abitious painting project.
Late in the afternoon, we’ll get together for a review and critique of the days efforts.

Learn to capture light and atmosphere on the summer landscape in this one day workshop. It’s important to “lock the light” rather than chasing it – learn that important skill and others with the morning session sketching exercises. In the afternoon, we’ll get down to painting using a combination of our sketches and direct observation. We’ll end the day with a critique of the days work.

About The Instructor
Tony Conner is an accomplished watercolorist and and experienced instructor. His energetic approach to teaching and enthusiasm for the watercolor medium are combined to create classes that are both fun and informative. He excels at providing information and insights to individual students – meeting them where they are and helping them get to where they want to go.
