“Raquette River, Late Summer” – 11″ x 15″
This view of the Raquette River is just outside the town of Tupper Lake, New York along Rt 30. It is a scene that I have passed and admired many times in the last thirty years. Finally, I’ve gotten around to painting it.
Late morning is not usually the best time to paint. But on this particular day, there was a hazy overcast that created and exaggerated aerial perspective to the distant mountains and even the landscape on the far shorelines. By contrast, the foliage in the foreground seemed rich and vibrant.
Although painted in August, considered to be a summer month, the combination of weak light, grayish colored shapes in the distance and touches of red and orange foliage in the foreground seemed to presage fall.
It is my great privilege to sell most of my paintings direct to my buyers – many of whom purchase online. Purchasing direct, online helps me because it saves the cost of framing, transport, inventory, promotion and gallery commissions. In return, you get a really good deal on a piece of original artwork.
Beyond getting a good deal, you’ll be
– supporting a working artist
– enriching your own life by owning a unique creation you can enjoy every day
– creating a long-lasting legacy for your family
– getting in on the ground-floor of a great investment
Oh, and by the way
– if it doesn’t match the drapes, there is a money-back guarantee!
