“Which Way?” – 7″ x 11″
At this country intersection, four roads converged. The recent snow cover created subtle pathways in each direction and deep forest cover of dark neutrals were nice foils for the light-white snow cover.
While painting the converging and diverging roads, I was always thinking of Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” –
“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth;“
