“Londonderry Double Decker”
En plein air watercolor painting done on a July morning in South Londonderry, Vermont.
Lentil And Split Pea Soup
This easy-to-make and wholesome soup is especially nice to serve for a fall or winter family meal. The combination of split peas and lentils gives this vegetable soup a nice texture, especially once it is blended until smooth.

“A Little Before Sunrise”
An early winter morning done just as the sky is lightening and the sun begins to warm the landscape.

“Fallen Tree”
A winter scene that’s really about weak light and contrasting light shadows.

“A Road In Vermont”
This painting is based on an old pencil sketch that explored the patterns of light and dark fields in a country scene. The sketch and the painting feature obliques and curves creating movement and rhythm within the pattern of the fields.

“Nearly Spring”
Winter melts away into mud and shimmering puddles as spring approaches. The mood of the landscape teeters between merry and melancholy. A muddy, rutted country road captures it as well as any scene.

“A Winter Day”
This painting was done in the studio, inspired by a compelling country landscape scene from near my home in Vermont. The scene is a familiar one that I visit to sketchand painted regularly.

“Hill Country In Winter”
“Hill Country In Winter” - 14”h x 13”w framed to 20”h x 16”w. This painting is a studio piece that explores the rhythms of snow covered fields in hilly terrain.

“Field At The End Of Winter”
A study of warming and brightening light in a simple rural scene, this painting also expresses a peaceful time at the transition from winter to spring.

Three Bean Chili
This one is easy, goes together and cooks quickly and is delicious. Make it as mild or as spicy as you like by adding more or less chili powder and red pepper.
