“Field At The End Of Winter”

Original watercolor landscape painting - 7” x 11” framed to 11” x 14”.

A study of warming and brightening light in a simple rural scene, this painting also expresses a peaceful time at the transition from winter to spring. Both light and landscape are changing - snow cover is receding and light is warming. Wet technique was used throughout for soft textures that support the calm scene. The subtle infusion of warmth in the cold scene helps the sensation of seasonal change and the anticipation of warmer days to come.
