Seascapes were the original subject for me.

As a youngster living away from the coast and the beach, I longed for the ocean and was happiest on those occasions when vacations took us to the beach.

I took up painting at the age of 14. Much of that early work was seascape paintings guided by various art instruction books on the subject.

Seascapes disappeared from my repertoire for many years until re-discovering the inspiration and challenge of the rugged New England coast just as I transitioned to a full-time artist twenty years ago.

The paintings below represent my most recent efforts on ocean and coastline scenes.
